Ms.
Robbins is thrilled to be making her Broadway producing
debut with LITTLE WOMEN. No
stranger to Broadway, she has played leading roles in
many Broadway shows including GOOD NEWS,
I LOVE MY WIFE, ROMANCE/ROMANCE, the Pulitzer
Prize winning CRIMES OF THE HEART, GYPSY
- where she played Mazeppa and stood by for Tyne Daly
as Mama Rose, and THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S
WIFE, covering both Linda Lavin and Michele
Lee, performing both roles many times. She starred as
Lee in the National Company of THE TALE
OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE opposite Valerie
Harper.
In earlier National Tours she appeared as Ethel in FOOTLOOSE,
and as Aldonza in MAN OF LA MANCHA
opposite Jose Ferrer. Other repertory and stock performances
are too numerous to mention but include Lady in ORPHEUS
DESCENDING, Maggie in CAT
ON A HOT TIN ROOF, Dr. Livingstone in
AGNES OF GOD, as well as
Anita in WEST SIDE STORY,
and The Leader in ZORBA.
Film and TV and appearances include guest starring roles
on LAW AND ORDER, ROSEANNE, JAG, BABYLON
FIVE as well as THE LAST DAYS
OF FRANKIE THE FLY with Dennis Hopper,
Daryl Hannah and Keifer Sutherland.
She also appears extensively in Concert and Cabaret
with her one woman shows ONE HELL OF A RIDE!
(The Songs of Cy Coleman) and GYPSY IN MY
SOUL. Her CD - JANA ROBBINS
- FACE TO FACE is available in most record
stores.
After producing several AIDS benefits for Broadway Cares/Equity
Fights AIDS, Ms. Robbins formed BETTER WORLD
PRODUCTIONS in 1995 to "produce theater
and film entertainment that inspires us to create a
BETTER WORLD". She directed and produced THE
PARTICIPANT in Los Angeles which was nominated
by LA Weekly as "Best Solo Performance" and
developed and helped to produce two Independent Films:
FRANKIE THE FLY with Dennis Hopper and
Keifer Sutherland, and EXECUTIVE TARGET
with Roy Schieder and Michael Madsen.
Ms. Robbins continues to act and produce and directs
inner city high school students with The Times Square
Group.
